Atlant Moscow Region have leveled the score in their-best-of-seven series against SKA St. Petersburg in the second round of the KHL playoffs.
Atlant were 3-2 ahead of Friday’s clash and had to get nothing but a victory to continue their hockey season.
It was SKA who took the lead in Mytischi, with Maksim Sushinsky setting up Petr Cajanek for a goal into an empty net at the start of the second 20 minutes.
But Atlant equalized close to the end of the period, following an effort from Zbynek Irgl, 1-1.
And the third Czech player who scored on the night brought victory to the home team as Jan Marek upset his countryman Jakub Stepanek in the second minute of the decider, 2-1.
Atlant have leveled the series at 3-3, with the decisive Game 7 to take place in St. Petersburg on Sunday, March 20.
