GM-AVTOVAZ, UAZ motor works to resume production after vacations.

SAMARA, August 1 (Itar-Tass) —— The Togliatti motor works GM-AVTOVAZ will resume the car production after two weeks of summer vacations on Monday. The equipment underwent technical maintenance at the motor works for this period of time, the press service of the motor works reported.

The GM-AVTOVAZ production target envisages making about 58,000 Chevrolet Niva jeeps that will exceed by 57% the production figures of the previous year. The motor works will recruit more than 100 new workers to meet the production target. The assembly line will put out 266 cars instead of 224 cars before daily under the working schedule in two shifts.

In August GM-AVTOVAZ is planning to launch the production of Chevrolet Niva, which are equipped with the Bosch antilock brake system and the TRW safety air cushions, the press service of the motor works reported.

The Ulyanovsk motor works (UAZ) will also resume operation after two weeks of vacations on Monday. During the vacations scheduled repairing works were done at the motor works and several major investment projects continued, including the unification of the main assembly line for a higher UAZ Patriot output.

Under the production target approved until the yearend UAZ will make 62,500 cars that is 13.5% more than the 2010 figure.
