A gynecologist in southern Russia was sentenced to four years and eight months in a penal colony on Friday for abusing at least eight minor girls, the prosecutor general’s office said.
Yury Tlevtsezhev, a doctor at the oncology center in the Adygean republic and also the owner of a local athletic club, invited girls to work for the club and ‘interviewed’ them in his house or in the club premises in the period between 2008 and 2010, prosecutors said.
“Tlevtsezhev tried to get girls seeking a job to engage in prostitution. He also molested underage girls,” prosecutors said.
Eight girls testified against the doctor during the trial. The man was also convicted for involvement in prostitution and illegal arms trade.
