Nine people, including five children, have been killed in a house fire in Russia’s Siberia, emergencies services said.
The fire in the village of Nizhnaya Poima in West Siberia’s Krasnoyarsk region was reported early on Monday, at about 00.50 am local time (16:50 GMT, Sunday).
Those killed in the blaze were a family of seven – five children and their parents – as well as their two guests, who were sleeping when the fire broke out, a spokesman for the local emergencies services said.
The tragedy could have been prevented if the fire were reported earlier, he said.
The cause of the fire, which destroyed the 180-square-meter house, is yet to be established.
