Karelia for Khodorkovsky

Jailed former Yukos CEO Mikhail Khodorkovsky is to arrive at a prison in the Karelia republic near the Finnish border on Friday, a law enforcement source told Interfax on Thursday.

Khodorkovsky left Moscow earlier this week. Officials have not informed the public or his lawyers and family about his whereabouts since.

The businessman applied for parole after his trial in Moscow, and it was unclear Thursday whether a city court would proceed with the application or demand that he refile the request in Karelia.
