Medvedev calls for ensuring Wi-Fi Internet access in universities

MOSCOW, Sep 13 (PRIME) — Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Tuesday called for ensuring round the clock wireless broadband Internet access via Wi-Fi technology at higher education institutions, RIA Novosti reported.

Wi-Fi is needed 24 hours a day across the entire territory of universities, both in classrooms and in dormitories, Medvedev said, adding that availability of wireless broadband services at universities might be ensured under a large government program.

Medvedev also said that the government had already ensured availability of Internet access in schools.
