President Dmitry Medvedev met with the newly elected leader of the Right Cause party, Mikhail Prokhorov. He described the businessman-turned-politician’s ideas as “revolutionary,” but promised to consider them carefully.
Prokhorov said it is Russia’s excessively centralized system of governance that has held it back. Medvedev partly agreed, noting that at the recent St. Petersburg Economic Forum he had also spoken of the need to decentralize power in Russia.
