The giant Mercedes-sign that spoiled the views of the capital’s center has finally been removed, filling Muscovites’ hearts with utter joy.
Although the car-maker’s contract with the city authorities expired ages ago, the legendary “House on the Embankment” had been wearing the mark for the last 10 years.
Many thought the massive sign ruined the views of the nearby Christ the Savior Cathedral. Officials say finding the money for the costly removal took some time.
Moscow’s currently in the process of getting rid of giant billboards and TV-ad screens. A number of removals in the center are scheduled for this week.
