Two dozen are dead after police in Sanamein in southern Syria fired live rounds on a crowd of people marching to join the funeral services for victims of Thursday clashes in Daraa.
On Wednesday, there were reports of as many as 44 deaths in fighting and anti-government rioting in this southern city.
Round-ups and arrests are now under way.
