MOSCOW, August 3 (Itar-Tass) — Moscow police shut down a large Chinese casino, spokeswoman for the city’s economic security department of the Interior Ministry Irina Volk told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.
The casino was accommodated on the premises of a storage area in iron hangars, near the Moskva shopping mall, and had selective access through a checkpoint, mostly for citizens of Vietnam and China. “The police ascertained that the owners of the gambling parlor were visitors from China and Vietnam. Two iron hangars on the premises had tables for card games and other games of chance,” Volk said.
Despite the serious conspiracy of the underground casino, detectives did have a trial game. During the subsequent operation, police seized 130 card packs and more than 1.5 million rubles,” the spokeswoman said.
Police are now ascertaining the identity of the organizers of the illegal casino, the places where they are keeping the illegal proceeds and the channel through which the money was laundered.
