MOSCOW, Jul 22 (PRIME) — The average size of bribes given in Russia rose to around 293,000 rubles in JanuaryJune, the press office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said Friday, citing Denis Sugrobov, head of the ministrys department for economic safety and corruption, RIA Novosti reported.

The department uncovered 6,500 large-scale economic crimes in JanuaryJune, up around 15% on the year. The size of bribes given in some of those crimes reached as much as 2.8 million rubles.
