Police Looking for Owner of Kalashnikov Left at Moscow IKEA

MOSCOW, January 28 (RIA Novosti) – A visit to Moscow’s popular and crowded IKEA furniture stores can often be a trying experience, but somebody appears to have courted temptation by taking along their Kalashnikov.

Russian online media reported Tuesday that police are looking for somebody who left an assault rifle in a coatroom at an outlet of the Swedish retailer in the Moscow suburb of Khimki.

The 1974 Kalashnikov and more than 100 rounds of ammunition were discovered Tuesday morning at the store, a police source told news websites Life News and BaltInfo.

Police say they are hopeful the gun’s serial number will help them identify the owner.
