A blast in the second generating unit of the Fukushima-1nuclear power plant in Japan might have damaged the reactor’s containment chamber raising fears of possible radiation leaks, the International Atomic Energy Agency’s press service said in a statement on Tuesday.
Radiation levels at the plant are above normal.
The French ASN nuclear safety authority rated the Fukushima breakdown at level 6 on the seven-point nuclear accident scale.
