A member of the feminist Russian punk band Pussy Riot has come out of hiding to say the group is alive and still wants President Vladimir Putin to step down.

A band member who identifies herself only as ‘Kot’ came out to speak seven months after three of the members of the band were imprisoned for staging an “unsanctioned protest prayer” against Putin.

She told CBS News, that what happened to the band members was ‘unacceptable’.

According to the report, Kot took the channel’s camera team to an underground location where she says the band comes together periodically.

She believes the government will probably leave her alone at this point, as long as she and the band lie low, but she knows giving an interview could change that, the report said.

Pussy Riot had staged several other protests, most famously in Red Square, where they shouted “Putin peed in his pants” because, they sang, he was afraid of the large demonstrations that took place in Russia at the time. (ANI)
