Putin, Medvedev Release 2012 Incomes

MOSCOW, April 12 (RIA Novosti) – Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev each earned almost 5.8 million rubles (about $187,000) in 2012, according to their tax reports posted on the president’s and the government’s websites on Friday.

The president’s annual income rose by almost 2.1 million rubles (about $67,500) last year from 3.7 million rubles ($119,000) in 2011.

Putin owns a plot of land, an apartment and a garage, as well as three vehicles – two Soviet-made Gaz cars and a Niva SUV.

His wife Lyudmila declared earnings of 121,400 rubles ($3,900) in 2012, with no property owned.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said he earned 5.8 million rubles (about $187,000) in 2012. In 2011 Medvedev, who was president then, had an income of almost 3.4 million rubles (about $109,000).

The Russian prime minister has a long-term lease contract for a plot of land and owns an apartment and three Gaz cars.

Medvedev’s wife Svetlana had no income in 2012, but owns a Volkswagen Golf car and two parking spots. His son declared no income or property.
