Putin’s Cabinet to Gather for Last Meeting

The cabinet of ministers that has worked under the leadership of Vladimir Putin since May 2008 will on Wednesday gather for its last meeting.

The current cabinet will resign after President-elect Putin is sworn in on May 7. Outgoing President Dmitry Medvedev is likely to become prime minister after Putin’s inauguration.

Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov told RIA Novosti that Putin will say goodbye to his ministers and government staff. The meeting will consider urgent economic issues.
