Radioactive iodine in sea near Fukushima 3,000 times above norm


The concentration of radioactive iodine in seawater near Japan’s crippled Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant is 3,355 times above the norm, the Kyodo news agency reported on Wednesday.
The figure has more than doubled since Monday, when levels of radioactive iodine in the sea near reactors 5 and 6 were 1,150 times higher than normal.
