With over 62 percent of the ballots counted, Russia’s ruling United Russia party is at 50.13 percent, and its closest rival, the Communist Party (KPRF) is at 19.49 percent. A Just Russia is at 12.86 percent, and Liberal Democrats (LDPR) are at 11.93 percent…

Update: After counting more than 90% of all ballots the United Russia Party has received slightly under a half of all votes, according to the latest figures by the Central Election Commission. The Communist Party received approximately 19 percent, A Just  Russia 13 percent, the Liberal Democratic Party nearly 12 percent. The remaining three parties will not be sending a representative to the parliament. The Yabloko party picked up only about 3 percent of the votes, and the Patriots of Russia and Right Cause less than one perscent. Some 1% of the ballots cast have been found invalid. The Central Elections Commission Chairman Vladimir Churov is idue to hold a major news conference at the Commisison’s press centre to elaborate on the preliminayr returns of the voting…
