MOSCOW, April 5 (RIA Novosti) – Russia and Bulgaria will sign an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to build the Belene nuclear power plant by June, the Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom said Tuesday.
Earlier on Tuesday, Bulgaria’s National Electric Company (NEK) and Russia’s nuclear engineering company Atomstroyexport signed a memorandum of understanding and a supplement to an earlier agreement on Belene.
The project to build the plant in northern Bulgaria has been stalled since 2006 due to price disputes.
