Russia is ready to send a team of experts to Libya to check reports of the possible death of Muammar Gaddafi’s son and three grandchildren, Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said on Tuesday.
“If there is a formal request, Russia would be ready to send qualified experts to Tripoli,” he said. “It is important to clarify the situation because “matters of life and death must not be used for propaganda purposes.”
Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has questioned reports that Gaddafi’s son and three grandchildren were killed in a NATO airstrike, saying coalition forces believed the claim to be “propaganda”.
