Russian Boy Saves Four Siblings from Burning Flat

MOSCOW, December 21 (RIA Novosti) – A seven-year-old boy has saved his four younger siblings from a burning flat in the southern Urals Republic of Bashkortostan, local emergencies said Saturday.

The boy was watching over his two brothers and two sisters while their mother went to a local shop. He was busy cooking dinner for the family when the fire broke out in the apartment.

He realized that the blaze had been started by his brother, 2, who was playing with the matches in his room and set a pillow on fire, before locking himself in a wardrobe.

The boy saw the smoke and leaped into action, grabbing the children. No one was hurt in the incident. A total of 19 people, including nine children, were evacuated during the fire.
