Russian gymnast Komova wins gold at world gymnastic championships

Russia’s gymnast Viktoria Komova has won gold at the World Gymnastic Championships in Tokyo, Japan.

Komova became first in the exercise on the uneven bars with 15,500 pts. The other Russian gymnast Tatyana Nabiyeva got the silver medal with 15,000 pts. China’s Huang Qiushuang became third with 14,833 pts.

This is the first time Komova wins gold at the world championships.

Elizabeth Tweddle, the 2010 championship winner from England, failed to reach the finals.
