Russian king of spam avoids prison in plea deal

More than two years after his arrest, a Russian citizen the FBI said ran a major world-wide spam operation has been sentenced to time served, plus three years probation. At one time, Oleg Nikolaenko was the virtual king of spam, responsible for 10 billion unwanted emails a day, nearly a third of the global spam-stream.Then the FBI shut him down.
