Russian Police Find Extremist Literature in Muslim Prayer House

IRKUTSK, October 1 (RIA Novosti) – Russian police and Federal Security Service (FSB) agents found extremist literature and drugs in a Muslim house of prayer in central Siberia, the regional Interior Ministry said Tuesday.

Police searched more than 200 people who were on the premises, located in the city of Irkutsk, at the time, many of whom were migrants from Central Asia who were violating migration legislation, the ministry said in a statement posted on its website.

Twelve people were detained in the raid, which was a routine check, and may be deported soon, the statement said.
