MOSCOW, February 21 (RIA Novosti) – A Russian man who killed a thief attempting to steal a box of chocolates has been sentenced to five years in a penal colony for manslaughter, prosecutors said Friday.
The thief was trying to take the box from a candy shop at a train station in the city of Samara when the other man intervened, kicking and punching the thief several times including in the head, prosecutors said in a statement.
The thief was pronounced dead at the scene, the statement said.
