Senators urge Obama to cut ties with Russian arms exporter over Syria

Special to WorldTribune.com WASHINGTON — Congress has been examining a ban on Russia’s state-owned arms agency, a key supplier to Syria. Several members of the Senate have urged the administration of President Barack Obama to halt trade with Russia’s Rosoboronexport arms export agency. In a letter to Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel, two leading senators said Rosoboronexport was playing a major role in arming the military of Syrian President Bashar Assad.
