A solution to the European missile defense shield issue depends not on NATO, but on the United States, Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov said on Wednesday.
“This is a U.S. position. There is a number of [NATO] countries expressing only concern. We could have received their support,” Serdyukov said after a session of the Russia-NATO Council in Brussels.
He also said that NATO makes bilateral missile defense agreements with individual countries without taking into account Russia’s concerns.
