Somali pirates hijack Greek bulk carrier

A Cypriot-flagged and Greek-owned bulk carrier, the MV Eagle, was hijacked by pirates about 490 nautical miles southwest of Salaam in Oman, a spokesperson for the EUNAFOR mission reported, adding that the pirates were firing small arms and a rocket propelled grenade (RPG) before boarding the vessel. The MV Eagle has a crew of 24 Filipinos.
