Thailand Ferry Capsizes with Dozens of Russians Aboard

A crowded ferry reportedly carrying some 200 people, including over 35 Russian nationals, sank in Thailand near the beach resort city of Pattaya on Sunday, killing at least six. The double-decker ferry, which had a carrying capacity of 150 people, capsized when an engine problem sent passengers rushing to the upper level, The Associated Press reported. A local source told RIA Novosti that the boat had encountered a large wave that caused it to topple over. The incident occurred shortly after the vessel left an island popular with day-trippers.
