UMMC is now investing as much as 5 billion rubles in the Gai Mining and Processing Works

During 2013 the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company is investing 5 billion rubles in the Gai Mining and Processing Works, OJSC, which is located in the Orenburg Region.

UMMC’s press office told RusBusinessNews that most of the funds will be spent to construct shafts to develop the deep horizons of the mine. The main work will focus on the Novaya shaft, which is scheduled to go into operation in 2014. Once that is complete, the mine’s productivity will increase from 5.6 to 7 million tons per year.

The construction plan for the Gai Mining and Processing Works also includes the modernization of the processing plant, the combined heat and power plant, the railway department, the central chemical and engineering lab as well other facilities.
