UMMC to increase ore production at the Gai Mining and Processing Works to 7.6 million tons

During 2013 the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company is investing 6.5 billion rubles in the Gai Mining and Processing Works, OJSC, which is located in the Orenburg Region. This is 1.5 billion more than in 2012.

UMMC’s press office told RusBusinessNews that in 2013 funds will be spent to develop the deep horizons of the underground mine, to put the Kletevaya pit shaft into operation, to construct the Severnaya-Ventilyatsionnaya-2 and the Novaya shafts, to develop the Letnee, Levoberezhnoe, and Yuzhno-Kirovskoe fields, and to update the mining equipment of the underground mine and the management of the shaft construction.

The phased implementation of the program to develop the business will make it possible to increase the productivity of the underground mine from 5.6 to 6.5 million tons of ore and the capacity of the processing plant to 8.0 million tons per year.

Because of its investment program, the Gai Mining and Processing Works plans to increase production in 2013 to 7.6 million tons of ore (in 2012, 7.3 million tons were extracted).
