Julian Assange may not have become Man of the Year in Time magazine, but Russian fans have found an eye-catching way of paying tribute to him.
The first-ever monument to the world’s most famous whistleblower has been unveiled in the city of Yekaterinburg.
The organizers decided against traditional statues, saying that in time these are all too often dismantled. They decided instead to release balloons bearing the name of the Wikileaks founder.
But when the final four letters blew away – well, they did not quite get what they had bargained for…
It did not ruin the day, however. In fact, some people said it only added to the occasion.
