A 17-year-old adopted by an American couple at age 12 has returned to Russia claiming that his parents treated him badly, according to reports from Russian news media with ties to the Kremlin. The teenager returned from a Philadelphia suburb to his 72-year-old grandmother in Cheboksary. In an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda, Russia’s best-selling daily newspaper, the youth, Alexander Abnosov, said that his adoptive mother “was yelling at me for every small thing. ” But he said he was on good terms with his adoptive father, who gave him $500 toward his plane ticket.
