Russia’s Maria Sharapova couldn’t cope with World No.1 Caroline Wozniacki in the semifinals of the Indian Wells Masters.
Sharapova has failed to show her best game against the Danish tennis star.
She committed eight double faults and managed to hold her serve only once, losing with a 6-1 6-2 scoreline.
The Russian explained that serving has been the “toughest challenge” for her since the shoulder injury of 2008.
“I’m getting there. I’m working a little bit on the serve stance. I think little by little you eventually feel more confident.,” the 23-year-old said.
Wozniacki progresses to the final, in which she will take on Marion Bartoli, who beat No.23 seed Yanina Wickmayer 6-1 6-3 in another semis.
