Terek end 6-game winless home streak

Terek Grozny have collected their first Russian Premier League win under new coach Stanislav Cherchesov, after beating Amkar Perm 1-0 in the Chechen capital.

The tight match in Grozny was decided by a lone goal, scored by Antonio Ferreira, who Antonio Ferreira, who was first to the rebound after a 70th minute free-kick from Jonathan Legear.

“We were under pressure as we haven’t won at our stadium for a long time. This made the players nervous,” Stanislav Cherchesov, Terek coach, said. ”In this game, we played with a good from our half of the table so the victory was very necessary. Terek have last won at home back in July against lowly Krylia Sovietov. The current victory puts the Chechen side 11th in the table with 28 points in as many games.

Volga Nizhny Novgorod 0-2 FC Krasnodar

FC Krasnodar picked up all three points in Nizhny Novgorod, as they beat Volga by two unanswered goals.

The visitors opened 60 minutes into the game through Otar Martsvaladze, following a mistake from Volga’s defense.

And Armenian international Yury Movsisyan sealed the final result in the dying minutes, as he made all the right moves in the box, 2-0.

Kuban Krasnodar 1-1 Krylia Sovietov Samara

In the late match of Saturday, seventh-placed Kuban and third-from-the-bottom Krylia Sovietov shared points in Krasnodar.

Sergey Kornilenko headed in the opener for the Samara team in the first period, while Sergey Davydov used the same part of his body to get the equalizer for the hosts after the break.
