The President of Yemen has promised amnesty to all military personnel who part ways with the opposition. Ali Abdullah Saleh said this during a speech on national television broadcast in Libya.
The President noted that he considers military action as a wrong response to what happened in Sana’a last Friday.
Last week in the capital of Yemen, Sanaa, at least 52 people were killed and more than 100 injured after local police opened fire on a rally.
The demonstrators demanded the resignation of the president who has been in power for over 30 years.
