Japanese scientists have discovered radioactive elements in sea water collected 30 kilometers from the island of Honshu. The was reported by the the International Atomic Energy Agency on Thursday. The island has become world famous because of the “emergency” at the nuclear power plant “Fukushima-1.
The collecting of water samples was carried out on the 22nd and 23rd of March.
A devastating earthquake of magnitude 9.0 on the richter scale occurred in Japan on March 11.
After the quake the NPP, “Fukushima-1” recorded a series of accidents which caused several leaks of radiation.
