SHANGHAI, August 7 (Itar-Tass) — Russia’s flag air carrier Aeroflot has not changed its schedule of flights to East China, in particular to Shanghai, over Muifa typhoon and fulfils flights in a normal mode, the company’s spokesman told Itar-Tass on Sunday.
“At this moment no changes to the schedule of flights over Muifa typhoon has been made,” he said.
According to earlier reports, dozens of flights were cancelled or delayed in Shanghai’s airports over typhoon Muifa sweeping East China. Along with this airports serviced inbound and outbound flights.
Thus, all flights of Aeroflot were carried out as scheduled.
At 6:00 local time (02:00 Moscow time) the typhoon crossed the latitude where Shanghai is located. At that time wind gusts in the city’s coastal districts reached up to 40 meters per second. Rains have been pouring down since Saturday.
No victims or destructions have been reported.
Weather forecasters say Muifa may strongly hit Shandong Province, where the typhoon is expected on Monday evening.
