Afghan coal miners clamour for conditions, pay

More than 400 workers from collieries in the northeastern Afghan province of Baghlan took to the streets of the provincial capital Puli Khumri Sunday to demand better pay and conditions and more modern equipment in their pits.

The current wage is about 80 dollars a month.
