Alaska court to hear Russian orphan abuse case next week

A court in Anchorage, Alaska, will hear the case of suspected abuse of a Russian orphan in Alaska by his adoptive U.S. mother on July 11, lawyer William Ingaldson said on Wednesday.

Jessica Bigley from Anchorage, Alaska, revealed to a talk show late last year her methods of raising her adopted son, Daniil Bukharov (aka Christoph Bigley), including pouring cold water over him and forcing him to rinse his mouth with hot pepper sauce.

Bigley’s lawyer earlier requested the court to end the case, but the request was rejected.

The U.S. woman pleaded not guilty. She faces a fine of $10,000 or a prison sentence of up to one year if found guilty.
