­As the Democrat-controlled Senate blocks a motion to raise America’s debt ceiling and to cut spending passed by the Republican-dominated House of Representatives, there seems to be no solution on the horizon.

Meanwhile, the August 2 deadline for raising the debt ceiling is rapidly approaching, and RT’s Lori Harfenist, also known as The Resident, hit the streets of New York to find out whether Americans feel an apocalypse is around the corner.
