Anzhi Makhachkala and Inter Milan have agreed the transfer terms of star-striker Samuel Eto’o to the Russian club, Italy’s La Gazzetta dello Sport daily reports.
According to the paper, the deadlocked talks between resumed in Milan on Saturday and ended in a compromise between the two clubs.
The agreement is verbal for now, and Inter are waiting for written confirmation from Anzhi to be faxed by Monday.
The transfer sum and Eto’s salary at the Russian Premier League side have not been disclosed, but that information is due to be made public at the start of next week.
Earlier reports anticipated the Cameroonian attacker would undergo a medical examination and be officially presented as an Anzhi player on Thursday, but for undisclosed reasons the plans were shelved, endangering the transfer.
The Makhachkala side, owned by Russian billionaire Suleyman Kerimov, were willing to pay €20 million per year to the Cameroonian attacker and €25 million to Inter for his transfer.
The 30-year-old player has agreed to the terms, but the Milan club wanted more money – at least €29 million – for their star.
After Kerimov’s arrival ершы winter, Anzhi have already acquired Brazilian football legend and FIFA World Cup winner Roberto Carlos and Russian international Yury Zhirkov.
