Aznhi are planning to strengthen their star-studded line up with Andrey Arshavin and his Arsenal partner Sebastien Squillaci during the winter break.
According to Inside Futbol, the Makhachkala side are eager to offer 12 million euros as the starting price for the Russian captain’s transfer, with Squillaci also forming part of the deal.
Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger is reported have plans on allocating the raised money on purchase of Lucho Gonzalez from Marseille and Lyon’s Yoann Gourcuff.
Arshavin has made just five appearances English Premier League appearances in the Gunners’ staring lineup this season, scoring just once.
Wenger believes it is a lack of confidence which prevents the 30-year-old from showing the stunning game he produced back at Euro 2008.
As for Squillaci, the 31-year-old Frenchman has not played single game for Arsenal in 2011, as the defender is injured.
Anzhi have been making waves on the transfer market since the club was purchased by billionaire Suleyman Kerimov, who has already signed big names Samuel Eto’o, Roberto Carlos and Yury Zhirkov to his club.
