MOSCOW, December 4 (RIA Novosti) – US tech giant Apple announced on Tuesday the launch of iTunes online music stores in Russia and 55 other countries.
“Apple today announced the launch of the iTunes Store in Russia, Turkey, India, South Africa and 52 additional countries featuring an incredible selection of local and international music from all the major labels and thousands of independent labels,” Apple said in a statement.
The iTunes Store is now available in 119 countries and “is the best way for iPhone, iPad, iPod, Mac and PC users to legally discover, purchase and download music online.”
Russia’s largest retailer for the sale of Apple products, re:Store, announced on Tuesday it had started selling gift cards to purchase apps, music and films in Apple’s online Apple App and iTunes Stores.
Gift cards enable their users to buy content in Apple online stores without credit cards.
Other major Russian electronics retailers, including Bely Veter Tsifrovoy and Svyaznoi, also confirmed their plans to sell gift cards for Apple online stores.
iTunes is the world’s leading music store, offering millions of songs as well as movies, HD TV shows, apps, games, podcasts and books.
