Turkmenistan and China are in talks to build and launch Turkmenistan’s first telecoms satellite, Ashgabat mass media reported on Thursday.
Officials from the China Great Wall International Trading company held talks in the Turkmen capital with representatives of the country’s telecommunications ministry. The local media quoted a Great Wall official saying it wanted to take an active part in Turkmenistan’s telecom projects.
World media have reported that the first Turkmen satellite might be launched from China’s Xichang launch center in 2014.
