MINSK, July 14 (Itar-Tass) – Belarus is still evidencing certain problems with the purchases of hard currency, and yet a tendency towards an increase in the inflow of currency has surfaced, too, Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich said Thursday as he met with President Alexander Lukashenko.

“Objective problems with the purchases of currency are still there but the measures towards the curbing of imports have brought up a tendency towards a better balance of foreign trade and an increase of currency inflow,” the presidential press service quoted Myasnikovich as saying.

The country met ten of the fifteen most crucial parameters of the forecast for social and economic development upon the results of performance from January through to June.

For instance, high rates of the GDP growth – 11% versus the forecast 9% to 10% — were registered.

The output of manufactured products went up 11.5% versus the forecast for 9% to 9.5%, and investment in the main capital stood at 27.6% /against the forecast for 16% to 17%/, Mikhail Myasnikovich said.

He indicated that the targets as vital as the profitability of sales in the industry and agriculture are also being met, while labor productivity has gone up 12.3% versus the forecast for 9.4%.

Myasnikovich highlighted the issues related to the situation in agriculture, saying the government has a task to organize the harvesting of crops timely and at a high quality level.
