Russian tourists clashed with Chinese residents in a border city with a visa-free regime.
Chinese police have refrained from announcing the cause of the fight in the Chinese border town of Heihe in order not to hinder the investigation.
The clash, however, seems to have been quite severe. Two Russians were taken to the hospital, after evidently being attacked with a weapon.
Heihe is located across the Amur River from the Russian town of Blagoveshchensk, and their residents do not need visas to travel back and forth.
This is not the first incident involving Russian and Chinese residents. Two years ago, a group of Russian students was arrested for starting a fight with the Chinese citizens.
