Casualties Reported in Siberia’s Oil Storage Facility Fire

At least one man was injured and two are missing after a fire broke out at a reservoir containing oil products in Russia’s Siberian region of Irkutsk, the regional emergencies situations department said on Tuesday.

The ministry said that a storage of oil products in the city of Angarsk, near the Baikal Lake and with the storing capacity of up to 500 cubic meters, caught on fire on early Tuesday morning local time.

One man was hospitalized as a result of the incident, while rescuers search for two more persons, the emergencies department said.

The ministry also said that the fire at the underground oil storage was contained and poses no threat of further expansion on nearby facilities.
