Censored: Madonna video too hot for YouTube

Madonna had to re-edit her new music video to get on YouTube. The video service described Madonna’s latest Girl Gone Wild video as “too raunchy”.

The black-and-white video directed by fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott features Madonna dancing in an erotic manner with almost nude male-models in high heels.

The service’s administration has given the video an age restriction as they believe many scenes are inappropriate for people under 18. YouTube sent Madonna’s team a list of scenes that should be cut to make the video fit for a YouTube audience, The New York Post reports.

Over almost a week after its release the new video was seen over 1.3 million times on YouTube. The video currently has over 33,000 likes, and a bit more than 3,000 dislikes.

In a recent interview promoting her new album Madonna rushed to defend her work, claiming she was “supposed to be a ‘girl gone wild’ in the video.”

“How could you go wild and not grind? This is the question that people should be asking,”  Madonna said.

The new album was released on March 26. Soon the singer will start a European tour, where she will visit Moscow and St. Petersburg on August 7 and 9.
