DONETSK, July 30 (Itar-Tass) —— The death toll in the Sukhodolskaya-Vostochnaya coalmine accident rose to 24 on Saturday, July 30, after rescuers had found the bodies of another six coalminers who died as a result of Friday’s methane explosion 915 metres under the ground.
Of 28 people who were in the mine at the time of the accident, only two were rescued. Both are in hospital in grave condition.
The search is underway for two missing people.
Two coalminers were buried on Saturday. The others will be interred on July 31, which has been declared a day of national mourning in Ukraine.
